+ Gameplay - One of GTA
V's several strengths. The shooting
mechanics are taken from Max Payne 3. One of
the 3 protagonists Michael also has
slow-motion ability like Max. Shooting is
fun and it's definately way better than most
of the shooters these days. Vehicle
mechanics are good too. The 3 protagonists
is a nice addition providing a very unique
experience both during and outside missions.
You can jump from one to another in free
play anytime. You can also do that in a
mission if more than one protagonists are
involved. Do what you like more, say drive
the getaway vehicle or be the shotgun.
+ Great Graphics - Rockstar
has done amazing job on 10 year old
consoles. Draw distance is really good. Just
don't try to get too technical, try to enjoy
the game and you will be fine.
+ Amazing Detail - Rockstar
has shown love to every corner every street
and that too on this huge map. The houses
are all different plus wherever you go
there's a lot happening around.
+ There are lot of things you can do
in GTA V apart from regular GTA stuff
i. You can watch TV at home, there are two
channels and they have lot of stuff.
Animated shows that can run for hours in
total.
ii. There are movie theaters in Los Santos
though they play same content you see on TV
but as I said before this content is in
hours.
iii. In game sports like Tennis, Golf and
Darts. These games were no less fun either.
iv. Stock exchange with lot of local
companies and their share prices can be
affected by your in game actions.
+ Online - The online part
is more of a bonus GTA V solo is more than
enough to justify everything. GTA Online is
quite fun, everyone stands an equal chance
to be a winner plus it's fun even if you
don't win. But you have to play same
missions dozens of type untill new become
available, hopefully online missions will
increase in future.
One thing I didn't liked about GTA Online is
that anyone can kick out other players from
the room. A guy kills you for no reason,
then kicks you out of the room. If that's
not unfair enough, when you log back in to
some other room you are greeted by a message
that you left in between a game and this
will give you a bad rating. Outrageous!
My fav mission is 'Top Fun' even though
planes hardly stand a chance against
runners.
The first week was tough, lots of sign outs
but all is well now.
- Storyline - GTA V tries
to keep things simple as far as it's
storyline is concerned. It's not a bad story
but it does not stand at GTA's level. Where
are the twists? One expects a GTA story to
be as diabolical as possible, take a clue
from GTA 3 and GTA San Andreas RS.
- Helicopter Handling -
Helicopter is very sensitive to wind. Also
when you accelerate, the helicopter is in
almost vertical position. 5 seconds of
acceleration and you will be approaching
ground level about to crash. Accelerate -
Stop - Accelerate - Stop is what you have to
do making you look like a drunk driver.
- In game Shops/Places -
You can buy vehicles online, stock exchange
is online too which you access using your
phone. But why not create real places for
them. I find it ridiculous to open one page
look at small thumbnail picture of vehicles
and purchase them. It's more fun to drive to
an actual store, look at the cars and then
buy the one you like or even better steal
them ! There are no food shops (except one
or two near Sandy Shores) anymore no hotdog
stands which were introduced in San Andreas.
It was a perfect way to heal yourself. There
are also no health packs outside hospitals,
you can call 911 for paramedics but they
don't heal you in V. The only way to heal is
to go home which could be miles away or
blocked by a mission you are avoiding at the
moment. I started many of my missions with
half health. It's absurd that in a detail
rich world like this such basic and
important things are missing. |
