Review
+ Stealth missions are better now - As you can now see through the dark you can strategise rather than gamble your chances like in 2033. AI also has improved and behaves more realistically.

+ Difficulty is properly set - Unlike the previous game, Normal stays normal through out the game. It doesn't starts feeling easy at times or hard at other.

+ You don't need to press X multiple times anymore. Press it once and all ammo around is taken. You can see that 4A Games choose to drop realism in favor of fun in this sequel.

- Stealth became little bit too easy.

- There are some enemies who only patrol in the dark. Even if you are standing in front of them, at a distance of an inch they can't see you. It doesn't makes any sense, why do they even bother to patrol if they can't see anything.

- Ignores your Metro 2033 save file - No matter which one of the two endings you achieved previously, Last light assumes only one of them.

- Story is hard to follow at times.

Other
Metro 2033 had lot of dark levels, this has changed at least for you. You can clearly see everybody whether they are in dark or in light but your enemies can't see you in dark.
